Reclaimer Cross Travel Upgrades

Congratulations to the RTIO Mechanical Projects division for producing another successful outcome to the many undertakings completed by their division through out 2012.

We provided the right team to execute the projected works across an eight day shutdown on both accounts for Reclaimer 1 & 2 Cross Travel Upgrades.

This provided personnel access to an area that was once exposed to an extreme fall from a height hazard where a Full Body Harness and Lanyard was used to access the Cross Travel.

As a group we exceeded expectations by completing both projects ahead of schedule with our primary goal being the SAFE completion of the upgrades.

The project involved removal of two 45kW drive motors and replacing it with a single 90kW drive motor, relocation of various Marshalling boxes to allow installation of the chain drive and providing lighting for the newly installed walkways.

CV4 and CV5 Truss Replacement

HazElect completed the Electrical Installation including new field devices, cabling, belt weighers and cable management systems for the replacement of Conveyors 4 and 5 at Paraburdoo Minesite, Western Australia.

The duration of work was completed across a 21 day shut down in August 2012. Our team consisted of seven personnel to complete the projected works. The level of expertise within the work group saw the final product was delivered with precision, skill and executed as per the project timeline.

HazElect did extend past our scope with rectifying deteriorated parts of the installation that were not part of the original Scope of Work. We saw this as an opportunity to assist with providing an end result that would see the life of the conveyor extend to all components that weren’t replaced.

Congratulations to all involved as the final product was without question a great success.
